Essien deal now close for Chelsea

Premier League champions Chelsea are having talks with Ghana football association for the availability of mid-fielder Michael Essien for the coming month. Chelsea are likely to be without Essien and Didier Drogba for an untold period of time as they both will be repesenting their countries in the African Nations Cup. Jose Mourinho spoke to Essien's team manager and Ghana's sport minister of Essien only playing the team's first two group games while he misses the club's FA Cup matches with Huddersfield and Premiership matches with Sunderland and Charlton. Jose proposed of having Essien be taken and brought back in a private jet but this was quickly rejected as Ghana got concerned of Essien's fitess.
